  • Thursday

Thursday is the finale of the VBS.  We were so excited to have a final day with all the kids.  I am sure each of us during the week have touched over 1,000 hand of different children.  They are so loving and longing for affection.  Last night, we spent a time of reflection together, and prayed for Thursday.  That we would cherish these last moments with the kids.  My heart is so grateful to see all of our church members loving on the children as if they were their o...

  • Wednesday

Wednesday our entire team got back to Vacation Bible School.  In fact, this was the day that a few of us guys lead the Bible Study all day.  It was Josh Morgan as David, Josh Campbell as King Saul, Andy Froese as Goliath, and Justin as the Narrator.  We brought the house down teaching David and Goliath.  The kids seemed to love the interactive bible study, and we really nailed home to 400 kids the need to trust God with their lives.  It was such a thrilled to teach this ...

  • Tuesday

First of all, Olivia's finger is back to normal.  Thank you for your prayers.  She had to get the wound lanced, and immediately she begin to feel relief.  So thank God for that.  Tuesday was a very eventful day.  Our group split up into two groups.  The ladies went to VBS as normal, while most of the guys made their way to the ocean front property that Mission of Hope owns to work on a new school they are putting in. We helped put on a new roof for a school that sho...

  • Monday

Monday began the start of a four-day VBS that we are doing with other churches here.  We really didnt know what to expect the first day, but it was crazy.  I think they said over 400 children came to the first day of this VBS.  It was so fun to interact with all the kids.  They would climb up in your lap, or grab your hand and never let go.  They are just starving for affection.  Our team was broken into five different groups.  Community Health teaching them to...

  • Sunday

Sunday was a pretty busy day.  The church service started at the same time as Gateway.  I couldn't help but think that you were worshiping the same God in America that we were dancing to in Haiti.  What a privilege to serve a global God.  The church was certainly active.  I would say probably close to 1000 people in attendance.  They would scream and dance praising the name of Jesus Christ like I have never seen before.  It certainly challenged my view of worsh...

  • Saturday

Saturday was some what of a lazy day for us.  We first began the day by going to a house in the village near by.  This house was the home of a Sunday School teacher of the church here at Mission of Hope.  She had probably about 30 kids over at her house awaiting our arrival.  This was our first experience with the Haitian Kids.  We taught them a bible story, and sang many songs.  Then we just hung out. This was so exciting as a pastor to watch all the people from ou...

  • HAITI - 3 Weeks Away

In 3 weeks, our church leaves to partner with Mission of Hope in Haiti for a week long short-term mission trip.  We have been through some great training over the last several weeks to prepare our hearts and minds for what lies ahead.   I'm sure by now you have heard about the Earthquake that hit Haiti. An estimated 3 million people were impacted, and tens of thousands were killed or injured.  However, even before this earthquake Haiti was said to be the poorest nation in the West...
