Small Groups

A new commandment I give you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.  By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have loved one another.

JOHN 13:34-35

In order to embody the church in unique neighborhoods and networks of people in our city, we must have small communities who are uniquely expressing the gospel all over our city.  Based on a recent survey, 71% of people, if asked to come to a worship gathering, would decline.  However, 61% of respondents would study the Bible if a friend asked them to and 89% would be willing to listen if someone wanted to tell them about their Christians beliefs.
If we want to engage the entire city with the gospel of Christ, we have to take the church to them.

We often have a conversation that goes something along these lines: "That's great that you have that cool vision and philosophy of small groups that make disciples in your city, but what does that ACTUALLY look like?

There are a few practices that we believe to be very helpful in moving communities of believers to act differently and begin orienting their lives around making disciples.  These practices will help us facilitate inclusive small groups who genuinely grow deeply in their knowledge of the Lord, but also engage intentionally and meaningfully in pockets of lostness all over our city.
